Rocky Mountaineer is not a sleeper train. Two-day Canadian journeys normally use Kamloops as the overnight bridge; the longer Rainforest to Gold Rush travels through Whistler and Quesnel. Packages can add Vancouver, Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper or Calgary stays before and after the train.

Return to the train for mountain scenery, engineering landmarks and river valleys. First Passage to the West continues toward Lake Louise or Banff; Journey Through the Clouds continues toward Jasper. Arrival times can vary because passenger trains share tracks with freight traffic.
