Destination Wedding Packages: Begin With the Celebration You Imagine

Tell us whether venue style, destination atmosphere, guest logistics or the honeymoon comes first. We will narrow the options without forcing every couple into the same resort formula.

Beachfront Bliss destination wedding style

Beachfront Bliss

Exchange vows beside the Caribbean or Pacific with sand, sea and sunset shaping the atmosphere. Beach weddings can be wonderfully relaxed, but privacy, wind, tides, accessibility and an indoor weather backup must be confirmed. We compare ceremony times, resort beach traffic, reception locations and guest-room proximity before the venue is selected.

Boutique & Heritage Venues

Historic villas, intimate hotels and European venues offer character beyond a conventional resort. They also require closer coordination of transportation, catering, accessibility, local vendors and legal paperwork. This style suits couples who value place, food and architecture and are comfortable with a more customized planning process.

TOP DESTINATION WEDDING REGIONS

Match the Backdrop With the Practical Details

Caribbean destination wedding location

Caribbean

Legal rules vary by island; symbolic ceremonies are often simpler.

Jamaica, Saint Lucia, the Dominican Republic and other islands combine all-inclusive convenience with distinct residency, document and fee requirements. Flight access and hurricane-season protection also differ.

Mexico destination wedding location

Mexico

Civil ceremonies may require documents, translation and medical steps; symbolic ceremonies reduce complexity.

Cancún, Playa Mujeres, Riviera Maya and the Tulum area offer very different beaches, transfer times and resort styles. We match the correct micro-region to the guest group.

Europe destination wedding location

Europe

Country and municipality rules are highly specific; many couples complete legal formalities at home.

Italy and the Amalfi Coast provide historic venues and cinematic scenery, with more detailed vendor, transportation and accommodation coordination than most all-inclusive resorts.

South Pacific destination wedding location

South Pacific

Island nations and territories have separate entry and marriage rules.

French Polynesia, Fiji and other South Pacific destinations suit intimate weddings and honeymoons. Long-haul flights, boat transfers and guest budgets require early planning.

WEDDING PLANNING 101

Know the Rules Before the Save-the-Date

Legal paperwork, guest deposits and package deadlines shape the celebration. Start early, compare written terms and never assume a resort promotion covers every event cost.

How far in advance should we plan a destination wedding?

Twelve to eighteen months is a strong planning window, especially for a popular resort, a large group or peak-season dates. Smaller celebrations can sometimes be arranged faster, but room inventory, flights and preferred venues may be limited.

What is the difference between a legal and symbolic ceremony?

A legal ceremony creates the civil marriage in the destination and may require documents, translations, waiting periods, witnesses, medical tests or local fees. A symbolic ceremony has no legal effect, so many couples complete the legal marriage at home and hold the full celebration abroad.

Does a complimentary wedding mean the whole wedding is free?

Usually not. A qualifying base ceremony may be complimentary, while accommodation, guest travel, private receptions, décor upgrades, photography, entertainment, legal processing and outside-vendor fees remain separate. Every inclusion and qualification should be confirmed in writing.

How do guests book into the wedding group?

Once the resort and room-block terms are confirmed, guests receive clear booking instructions, deadlines and available categories. We track reservations, answer travel questions and coordinate transfers and package details while the couple focuses on the celebration.

Who handles the actual wedding details at the resort?

The resort or venue wedding team manages on-site ceremony and event execution. McNellis Travel handles travel strategy, resort selection, room blocks, guest booking and coordination with the supplier so the travel and wedding plans stay aligned.
